Welcome to St Martin’s School

At the heart of St Martin’s School is the care we have for each other and the safe climate for learning we offer. We aim to encourage children to relish a challenge with a Growth Mindset approach that enables them to find success through valuing each step of their progress.

Over time, they learn to take on challenges, learn from setbacks and keep trying, knowing that they are “growing their brains”. We use a variety of strategies that enable children to work independently, with partners and in groups, building essential team-skills that prepare them for their lives ahead.

At St Martin’s School, our motto is Above all, the child. This means that every pupil is listened to and valued, with their well being and education at the forefront of our minds.

Our Values

We put learning and the well-being of each child at the forefront of all our planning and decision making.

Our Aims

To ensure that all children and adults have equality of opportunity to be self-motivated, lifelong learners who enjoy learning and thus to achieve their full potential.

To enable all children and adults to develop their knowledge, skills and to be aware of life and career opportunities in order to fulfill their potential for independence and economic well-being.

To provide an environment which keeps children and adults safe from physical, emotional or psychological harm.

To provide an environment in which a healthy lifestyle is promoted and encouraged.

To be at the heart of the local community, both drawing on the strengths of that community and providing support for community groups and individuals as appropriate.
