Welcome back to class in Term 2! We have a very exciting term ahead of us.
In Geography, we are going to be studying our incredible planet and learning about what causes volcanoes and earthquakes and how vitally important they are. We will be using this fascinating topic to improve our non-fiction writing by producing information texts about volcanoes and earthquakes.
In Science we will be studying rocks from around the world. We will be analysing the properties of different types of rocks, including igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. Bonus housepoints for anybody who can identify what rock is common around the Dover area, and what type of rock it is!
Our class assembly will be on Thursday 23rd November and will be about staying safe on the internet. Parents are invited to stay afterwards for a presentation led by myself (as Computer Science Subject Leader) about internet safety and what you can do to help.
If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to me at the end of the school day.
In English, we have learned how to use the first three letters of a word to locate it in a dictionary and thesaurus. This has helped us identify what new vocabulary means in History and Geography.
Take a look at what Year 3 Ramsgate have been making for their Christmas hoop!
