LPPA - Leading Parent Partnership Award
Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) is a national recognised award that helps schools to work in partnership with all parents and carers. The award hopes to increase parental participation in school life, which could help to improve pupil’s progress, punctuality, attendance and behaviour; ultimately leading to improved outcomes in all aspects of school life.
The LPPA provides a coherent framework for us to follow and deliver effective parental engagement in our school. Overall, this award will help us to work more closely and more effectively with all of our Parents/Carers. It is the ethos of our school and that of the Whinless Down Academy Trust that we want the very best for our pupils and it has been proven that effective and positive Parent/Carer partnerships can have a very real and lasting impact.
The award is expected to be achieved within a maximum of 12-15 months and we started the award process in September 2022. Within this timescale, the process is supportive, developmental and progressive, rather than a box-ticking, target-driven exercise. A huge thank you to those parents who completed an initial survey in November- there will be other forms as we move through the award.
Since the relaxing of Covid restrictions, we have reintroduced open afternoons, courses offered to parents via Kent Adult Education, fundraising events, coffee mornings and events for parents to celebrate their children's learning. Look out on this page for key information and survey responses.
